Whole Heart Academy was founded by Suzannah Fernandez, a certified teacher with over 25 years of experience in education. Suzannah has taught students from third grade through twelfth grade and holds two master’s degrees, equipping her with both the depth of knowledge and breadth of experience to thoughtfully guide students across developmental stages. Without hesitation, she considers education her God-given calling.

Over the past ten years, Suzannah has intentionally devoted herself to cultivating a deep and intimate relationship with God. During this season, she has learned what it means to sit at the feet of Jesus—to grow not only in knowledge but also in revelation of who God truly is. This transformative journey has shaped her faith, her teaching, and her understanding of what formation in children can and should be.

Suzannah believes God is calling her to reimagine education—to change not only what we learn, but also how and why we learn. She is deeply convinced that our hearts matter profoundly to God and that true learning begins when our hearts are fully surrendered to Him. When we give God our whole heart, we are able to hear His voice more clearly, enter His rest, and follow Him more faithfully in our lives.

As a mother, Suzannah’s deepest desire is to teach her own children—and the children entrusted to her—how to draw near to God, to seek Him wholeheartedly, and to discern what leads them closer to Him and what merely distracts. She believes that if something is not drawing us toward God, it requires discernment, because education should never compete with our relationship with Him—it should deepen it.

At Whole Heart Academy, Suzannah seeks to help renew education to its original intention: to write God’s truth on our hearts, to bind it on our hands, and to carry it in our minds (Deuteronomy 6:7-8). Education, she believes, is one of the sacred ways we can learn to enjoy God, delight in relationship with Him, and follow the gentle leading of His Spirit.
